    This Advanced level, evidence-based, four day course was developed in response to requests for an update on treatment and assessment of people with vestibular disorders.  It is open only to Physical and Occupational Therapists who have passed the Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency-Based Course.  The course will emphasize assessment and treatment of cervicogenic dizziness (lecture and laboratory sessions); differentiation of central eye movement signs and symptoms from peripheral vestibular eye movement signs and symptoms, as well as treatment considerations for individuals with dizziness secondary to central vestibular disorders, including concussion; treatment of the less common presentations of BPPV (lecture and laboratory sessions); Dizziness and Meniere's versus the migraine complex, SCD and other uncommon vestibular disorders; pediatric vestibular rehabilitation; and expectations for recovery.

    Sitting Cx Segmental Mob.jpgThis course is intended for physical therapists with experience managing patients with  dizziness complaints, but wish to improve in the differential diagnosis, manual examination and intervention in patients whose dizziness has a cervicogenic component. The neurologic therapist treating patients with vestibular diagnoses will learn to manage coexisting musculoskeletal impairments, while the orthopedic therapist will learn to manage dizziness due to non-musculoskeletal causes.     This hands-on lab course is aimed at clinicians who are treating patients presenting with complaints of dizziness and/or balance problems.  The participant will be able to differentiate between central and peripheral vestibular patients, treat those who are appropriate and refer those who are not.
